Ebay Live 2005 was informative, fun, a way to meet fellow eBayers and loaded
with surprises. Prizes, drawings, giveaways, collectibles and many things to
pack to take home. There was one which really caught us by surprise.
Introducing Griffie the eBay Live Gnome.
This charming little fellow appeared late at eBay Live 2005 in San Jose.
He had been taking it all in, in the surreptitious way gnomes are known for when he decided to reveal himself to all eBayers near and far.
This white bearded guy magically appeared Saturday morning during the Extreme Listing Makeover class run by Lauren Murray
& Ana Varela. As the group of dedicated eBayers were furiously honing their skills for writing dynamic descriptions, out of nowhere appeared an enchanting little gnome. While perplexed at first, the group was quickly inspired to new heights in descriptive writing as the eBay Gnome cheered them on.
As class progressed this sparkling eyed sweetie revealed his true identity, that of Griff’s alter ego and eBay Live’s new mascot. Claiming that he now needed a human assistant for the balance of the Convention, he took up with lucky neophyte eBayer, Anne Jenkins.
She and the gnome stopped briefly to chat with Griff who verified his identity placing a signature of authenticity on the soles of the gnome’s tootsies.
Meg Whitman also took time to say hi and add her John Hancock next to Griff’s.
Once convinced that Griffie was truly the eBay Live Gnome, Anne and Griffie gleefully joined all the eBay fun meeting lots of other terrific eBayers and staff. Everyone was enchanted by this magical little fellow as he toured the Solutions Floor and sat in on various chats.
Griffe found that fellow eBayers will even give you a seat on the light rail.
This great
day ended with a fabulous finale at the Gala party where he, Anne, and her, crazy for pins and trading cards husband, Tom, had loads of fun.
Cruising the Gala, Griffie, joined Erin, Ashley and Jamie for dinner.
He felt that his help was needed by security and decided to lend a hand.

he decided to spend the bulk of his time at the dessert table sampling one of everything and enjoying a piece of the 10th Anniversary cake.
Later he reveled in joining the Country Dancers as the pretty ladies gushed over him and taught him a few new rope tricks.
When Elvis was sighted at the Gala, Griffie, hurried to get his picture taken before Elvis left the building.
While hob knobbing with some Power Sellers he got a few hot tips on the next hot listings, then took a break and sat for a caricature of himself as a souvenir to remember all the good times at eBay Live San Jose, 2005.
After a long day Griffe just had to have a short nap and then just sit and
visit.

Griffe buy a fare card, they keep you safe & give you a warm place to sit on a chilly night.
Griffie had so much fun with his new found friends that he opted to vacation with them in the Bay City area and the surrounding countryside. Check back later for Griffie’s adventures at Alcatraz with the nesting pigeons, the Petrified and Tall Redwood Forests, invasion of the star fish, encounters with the birds at Bodega Bay,
Point Reyes, Griffie and the Aussies ride the San Francisco cable cars and Krispy Kreme and Jelly Belly vs. Griffies insatiable sweet tooth.
